Your puppy will go through a few changes

We love our bassets and we want to love them too. The color of your new puppy will go through a few changes in the first year. Here are a few photo showing the changes you could see. Come see our puppies for adoption.

Rusty
"The Rustic Virginian"
Below were some of her puppies for adoption

9 weeks to 5 years old.

Before at 9-weeks old
Later at 5-years old

When we first got rusty she was a black and white basset with brown ears and a little brown on her bottom. She looked like she was rusting on the edges. It took almost 2 years before all of her brown come to be.

Tri-color bassets change the most and there's no way to know how much of the back will turn to brown. Most of the time the top of the legs and or the ears will turn brown. The back areas in the face will start turning born with in 1-3 weeks if they are not going to stay black.

The red and white bassets or a little more predictable. The darker back marks will almost always disappear on the back of the basset. Most of the time the white will stay the same. Sometime if their is a small almost of white in spots. These areas will fade away. It's good to know what you are looking for before you look at puppies for adoption.
