Now when come to day to day feeding of our bassets. I try to give them the best food that we can afford. The better foods have less bad items in them and more of the good stuff. The cheaper the food the longer it is design to set on the shelf. Cheaper food have the kind of prescriptive that are bad for our pets and very little oils that are good for them.

Over the years I have tried many different dog foods. I have found that the better the food the less the basset will eat and the less the clean up in the yard. In most cases I only recommend holistic dog food (all natural) . Not to say the some wheat are not bad but along with them normally comes corn and allot of other not so good things. So rule of thumb is HOLLISTIC DOG FOODS.

Now it come down to how much you are willing to send on your basset for there day to day food. Their are many good foods on the market today and we now understand more about the thing to look for in a better food for our pets. These are the foods that I have used and like the outcome.
